Immersive Dance Camp for Kids

Come move with professional dancer and experienced dance teacher Kayla Banks! Learn techniques and styles from Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, HipHop and Musical Theater. Students will also be immersed in stretch and breathwork exercises and get the opportunity to create and put together movements for a small showcase (will be recorded with permission) for families and friends. Please provide a packed lunch and a water bottle, some snacks and water will be provided by Kayla.

There will be snack and lunch breaks each day.

About Kayla:

KAYLA BANKS (choreographer, dancer and actor) is from Denver, Colorado where she received her B.A. in Performing Arts and Business Administration from Colorado State University. She is enrolled in the M.F.A at Florida State University under Director Anjali Austin. She trained in classical ballet, Vaganova technique under Carol Roderick, and The Portland Ballet school/teacher training. She has trained with NW Dance Project, Cleo Parker Robinson, and at the International Blacks in Dance Conference. She has danced professionally with Impact Dance Company, Cleo Parker Robinson and Dancing Earth Indigenous Contemporary Dance Creations. She has performed in an original work by Anya Pearson in New York City at The Public Theater under the choreographic direction of Emily Bufferd. She is a recipient of the New Expressive Works residency program and CoHo Theater Residency where she debuted an original work in March 2019 around multi-ethnicity and an original dance musical in 2021.
